John P. Malone, Jr.
John Malone, admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1971, began his practice as a sole practitioner and his entrepreneurial spirit has defined the character of his practice. He holds the Martindale Hubbell "AV" and "Preeminent" Attorney ratings. The Martindale Hubbell AV rating indicates very high to preeminent legal ability and very high ethical standards as determined by confidential opinions of local attorneys and judges. While his general practice has encompassed a diverse range of fields, he has developed a special focus on business, real estate, and civil litigation. Mr. Malone has garnered a wide variety of trial experience in state and federal courts while representing businesses and individuals in such diverse areas as real estate development, construction, labor, credit union management, waste management, restaurant management, manufacturing and intellectual property. Mr. Malone also works with his clients on their estate planning and probate administration needs.
He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Arbitration panel, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio, the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, the United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Ohio, the United States Tax Court, Washington, D.C., the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Ohio.
Mr. Malone graduated from Holy Cross College (A.B.), Case Western Reserve University School of Law (J.D.), and has taught as as an assistant professor of business law at Cleveland State University. He and his wife live in the Cleveland area, and are the parents of six children.
Andrew R. Malone
Mr. Malone is active in all practice areas of the firm, including business and commercial litigation, business planning and counseling, real estate, estate planning and probate, and appellate practice. He has handled various matters in both state and federal court. From 2006 until 2008 he served as the judicial staff attorney for the Hon. Tim McCormick of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. Mr. Malone was admitted to practice in all Ohio courts in 2005 and to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio in 2006, and is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association.
Mr. Malone, a Cleveland native, graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2005 where he was Executive Notes Editor of the Case Western Reserve Journal of International Law. In 2001, he graduated from Kenyon College (A.B., cum laude with High Honors in History). While at Kenyon, he was captain of the football team and served on the Committees on Business & Finance and Housing & grounds.
